MSES Grade 5 Scientists Shine at Annual Fair!

MSES Grade 5 Scientists Shine at Annual Fair!
Posted on 04/15/2018
The 2018 MSES Science Fair was another huge success of learning and science celebration! Our 75 fifth-grade scientists have been preparing for weeks to show their use of the scientific method to answer the question they chose from among five categories. Each student’s project board and oral presentation were judged three times in the competition. Better yet, our adult and student science thinkers were able to talk about the ideas and methods in their process. We had 38 judges from a variety of backgrounds: working and retired teachers, our superintendent and middle school principal, working and retired scientists and other professionals from as far as Denver; parents of teachers, significant others of teachers, friends, parents of friends, parents and grandparents of students in other grades! In addition we had teachers throughout the school involved--all fifth-grade teachers, Media, GATE, SPED, support staff, and others! (And special thanks from Mr. Vogel and from the whole fifth-grade community to Ms. Knezha for her long, hard, creative work to make our Science Fair so strong and meaningful again this year!)

Prizes were awarded in five categories, as well as on overall winner. Top students may participate in the Regional Science Fair later this month. All student work will be exhibited at the Night of Excellence on April 26th in the gym.
