Host Family Need for Turkish Exchange Student!

Host Family Need for Turkish Exchange Student!
Posted on 10/08/2017

We need a Manitou Springs host family! We have a student from Turkey attending MSHS and he needs to be moved to a new host family as soon as possible!  Please consider hosting him!  He is in the country on a scholarship through the US Department of State. He is studying at Manitou High School and is excited to try basketball and to be on the robotics team this year. He uses a cochlear implant but it allows him to verbally communicate well and doesn't hold him back. He is fluent in English and the program is providing some extra support to be sure he thrives this year.

Host families can be married or single, with or without kids in the home. Hosts with young children, teens, no children, grandparents, empty-nesters... anyone willing to open their home and heart to be a loving host, would be a great help!

Ideally, we would like to find a family who can host the rest of the year, but if not, even a family willing to host for a short time would be a big help! The host family volunteers to provide meals and a bed (the student can share a room with a host brother but needs his own bed) and becomes the student's family away from home. The program provides medical insurance, school fees and expenses and gives the student a monthly allowance for pocket money.

We need to move this student as soon as possible. I can give any interested family more details on the student and the program. Please contact Holly Nichols right away if you can consider helping!
