Hundreds Join MSES Students to Thank Veterans
Posted on 11/12/2017
Nearly 200 veterans, active military personnel, and community members joined 500 MSES students and staff in the auditorium Friday to honor those who have supported our country in military service. Two local veterans and one active-duty serviceman shared their reasons for serving and their experiences. Veterans, active-duty folks, and their families were seated on stage while all of the students in the school sang songs honoring them--and also honoring the MSES parents/guardians who are currently serving in Korea and elsewhere globally and domestically. Among the songs we shared was “Thank You, Soldiers,” sung by our First- and Second-Graders--including Jessica Clinkenbeard, shown above being comforted by her father, Bryan, during the song. Thanks to Ms. Lawson and our staff for preparing a thoughtful, hopeful program—and, above all, thank you to our veterans and those currently serving our country and protecting our kids!
