Litearcy Night 2

More than 265 MSES students and their parents/guardians—a new record—attended our annual Literacy Night last Thursday for dinner and a movie—and free books! Families consumed 47 Savelli's pizzas (and a few gluten-free pies), 300 bottles of water, and lots of carrots, apples, and salad. Then we collected in the auditorium to learn about our Reading Promise Program (in which parents commit to read to their children 100 days in a row and beyond) and our Whole School Reads Program (in which all the families in our school read the same book together). This year’s all-school book is The Borrowers, so we watched The Secret of Arrietty, which is based on the book. Afterward, students received a free children’s book and parents/guardians received a copy of The Borrowers.

Families who were not able to attend literacy night are still welcome to a copy of The Borrowers and our Reading Promise packet. Just stop by the office and Mr. Vogel will be happy to make a copy available
