Love & Laughter!

Your kids’ kindness and wit last week!

Ms. Mortensen: After learning about what things are important to tell Miss M right away versus what should wait until she isn't teaching, my conversation with one student went like this...

"Miss M, I really need to tell you something."

"Buddy, let's wait until I finish teaching the kids."

"But, Miss M, I really need to tell you, it's so important."

"Okay bud, what is it?"

"I've NEVER seen you wear those shoes before!"

Ms. Goldman: Act of Kindness: I was walking around the playground during recess and dealing with an issue between a few kids. In that moment a kindergartener came up to me and very nervously asked if I would push her on the swing. I told her I would be happy to after I had worked through the issue with my 4th graders--when one of my students offered to go push her! It was a really sweet moment to witness.

Ms. Pearson: We have been talking in Second Grade about the difference between fiction and nonfiction.  We have been studying Fairy and Tall Tales...hence, reading 'The Three Little Pigs' one day and talking about why it is a fictional story. Another day I read the story 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs' told by the Wolf!

Student:  So, this story must be nonfiction.

Me: Well, it is a fairy tale, so it is fiction.

Student: I don't get it.  It says The TRUE story and nonfiction is true.

Me:  LOL! I love the thinking that went into your reasoning
