MSES Service Corps Supporting Children’s Hospital

MSES Service Corps Supporting Children’s Hospital
Posted on 12/03/2017
As you know, our version of a “student council” is the Mustang Service Corps (MSC), where students volunteer to support school-wide service projects. This February, we will be doing a project to raise money for the new Children's Hospital in Colorado Springs! In this year’s MSC model, our whole school is part of the service projects. Each week teachers pick two students from their class who have been demonstrating mindful Mustang behavior to come to the Collaboratory to help our school serve others. In the current project, the students serve by making hand-made crafts, help with our school chickens/gardens, or sell handmade items at lunch.
MSC will be raising funds by offering hand-made items to students in the commons this month. The MSC school store will be open for students to buy items at 4th- and 5th-grade lunch time on Wednesdays and Fridays. Kindergarten-third grade will be Fridays only. Items include: Buttons- 50 cents; Magnets- 50 cents; Bookmarks- 25 cents. Holiday items: Make your own reindeer - 25 cents; Make your own holiday picture kit- 25 cents.
Thank you for supporting our whole school approach to Mustang Service Corps this year! We enjoy including ALL students to serve others.
