Music

Our elementary music program provides students with an engaging and dynamic environment where they experience music as performers, creators, listeners, and collaborators. Through singing, playing instruments, movement, composition, and active listening, children develop foundational musical skills while discovering their unique musical voices. As they explore music, students grow in confidence and critical thinking.

In addition to their classroom work, students have the opportunity to explore the lives and music of famous musicians and rock stars from a wide range of genres and time periods, deepening their understanding of music’s impact on culture and history. Throughout the year, students showcase their learning by participating in engaging music projects and performing in entertaining holiday concerts that celebrate their growth, creativity, and collaboration.

Our program supports the development of artistic literacy while inspiring a lifelong love of music and performance.

Danny Tramel, Music Teacher
Danny has been teaching music in Manitou Springs School District since 2014. He holds a Bachelors in Music Education and Masters in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to teaching, Danny serves in the National Guard as a guitar player and also regularly performs around Colorado. He enjoys camping with his wife, son and daughter as well as fishing mountain streams.
