Service Learning

At Manitou Springs School District, service is more than an activity — it’s a mindset we cultivate from an early age. Our students participate in service learning that connects them with local people, places, and causes throughout the Pikes Peak region. Whether it’s caring for the environment, supporting local nonprofits, or contributing to community events, students learn to lead with compassion, take initiative, and understand the impact of their actions on the world around them.

Each year, all elementary students participate in a locally impactful project, Creek Week, where they help clean up local waterways and learn about watershed health and environmental stewardship.

In addition to these district-wide opportunities, individual schools and grade levels participate in additional service projects aligned with their curriculum and community needs.
